As You Are Apparel emerged from a daily struggle I know too well. Pride often shines in vibrant rainbows, a symbol of hard-fought freedom. But as someone drawn to minimalistic styles and neutrals, my wardrobe rarely mirrored who I am. And flaunting rainbows didn't always feel safe either.

I adore the queer community and take pride in being exactly who I am. In such a diverse landscape, I found a need for more diverse expressions of our true selves and a heightened focus on our safety.

Then came a TikTok moment—a video I casually shared, sparking a conversation that resonated with over 5+ million of you. It echoed what I felt: a gap in the market for those who seek authenticity without abandoning their personal style, without being confined to bold colors.

That’s when the idea struck—a tee that’s understated, with a subtle surprise. A fruity phrase peeks from the sleeve when cuffed, hidden otherwise. You all resonated with it, and just like that, As You Are came into existence.

What started as a personal endeavour became so much more. Together, we shaped this brand—you named it "As You Are," guided product designs, colors, and variations. As You Are became a community, and I couldn't be more proud of all that we've created together.
